EDUCATION REGISTRATION FORM

30 Hours of classroom
  • All students must start the classroom sessions with unit 1.
  • The student must attend every session, participate in all classes take all unit, quizzes, and the final exam.
  • The final exam should not be given until a student completes the entire course, the final exam must be passed with at least 80%.
  • If a student misses a class, he/she make up the missed class, students are not allowed to just make up time missed.
  • Any student who missed more than 12 hours of the class must restart the course.
 
36 Hours Behind the Wheel (BTW)
  • The students MUST have passed their knowledge test and received their driver permit in order to begin BTW.
  • Each student needs to meet the instructor at the school location. We do not offer pick-up and drop-off services.
  • Arriving without a valid (State) Learner’s Permit or Driver’s License, being impaired for any reason, or wearing footwear which may impair the ability to safely operate the vehicle, the lesson will be cancelled and considered a no-show, therefore a no-show fee($60) will be applied.
  • If an Instructor sees that a student may not pass the BTW phase, he/she may recommend that the student defer his/her 2nd or 3rd lesson in order to have more practice driving with a parent or mentor, or they may take Extra Practice. If a student fails the BTW portion, they must practice and then arrange with the school to re-take the failed lesson and will be charged. Any lesson outside of the 6 hours included in the course is at an additional charge.
  • If you must cancel or reschedule your driving session. Please be sure to notify us at least 48 hours in advance. If you don’t show for your lesson you will be charged $60. Illness and other emergencies with documentation can be submitted to the school office for fee waiver consideration. You should contact with school by school phone numbers, text or email school to cancel driving session.
  • Please be patient if your instructor is a few minutes late. He/She may be detained on a driving test with another student. (If not there by 15 minutes after the appointment, please call the office numbers.
  • There is 10 minutes break time for two hours training which can be taken anytime during the session to review strength/weakness with a student.
  • Each student is scheduled for three 2-hour BTW sessions. The student must contact the school to schedule in-car lessons after completed unit 3 in classroom. The student must complete the course within 18 months of the first day of the class started otherwise he/she has to pay for the remaining part that not completed. 
It could takes as long as few months to complete in-car lessons, depending on circumstances such as when you are available andhow busy we are. Each lesson is held separately on a different day.
 
 
MVA NEW DRIVER’S GUIDELINES
  1.  Each student has the right to a certified competent instructor, knowledgeable about the curriculum and traffic safety issues. With that right each student has the responsibility to arrive prepared and on time for every class without such distractions as talking or texting on cell phones, being disrespectful to the instructor, or talking with other students in class. 
  2. Each student has the right to be taught the entire 30 hours of classroom instruction in an informative, interesting and challenging manner. With that right each student has the responsibility to be attentive and actively in every class.
  3. Each student has the right to experience the full 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction as required in the curriculum. With that right each student will listen to the instructor and not drive in a negligent or dangerous manner. 
  4. Each student has the right to be treated in a courteous, civil and respectful manner. With that right students have the responsibility to be polite and respectful to their instructors at all times, and be willing to accept positive criticism to help them achieve driving success.
  5. Each student has the right to attend class in a clean, safe, secure, temperature-controlled and fully-equipped classroom that meets the local fire and building codes and MVA requirements. With that right each student has the responsibility to respect the property of the driving school by not defacing or destroying equipment or vehicles.
  6. Each student and parent/driver coach has the right to visit the driver school, see the instructor’s license and certification, and the right to observe any class session including in-car sessions in which their child is included. With that right each parent/driver coach has the responsibility to refrain from interfering with the instruction, classroom or driving, while in the class session. 
  7. Each parent/driver coach and student has the right to have the driver education program, including both the 30 hours of classroom instruction and the 6 hours of required driving time, completed within 18 months of the first day of class. With that right each parent/driver coach has the responsibility to take an active role in his/her student’s driver education by monitoring all progress, communicating with the driving school and/or instructor, and practicing with the student driver if he/she has a learner’s permit. 
  8. Each parent/driver coach and student has the right to place a complaint with MVA regarding problems associated with the driving school or the instructor at 410-424-3751. With that right each parent/driver coach and student has the responsibility to attempt to promptly pay the driving school for the driver education class and to attempt to alert the owner or manager of the driving school about any problems or complaints before contacting and outside agency.

REFUND POLICY

  • 36 hours Ed course
    Full Refunds will only be issued to any student that withdraws from the program 48 hours before the program start. Sam Driving School will issue a full refund if the request is submitted in writing, 2 business days prior to the start of the program. If less than 2 business days a $120 fee will apply. All refunds will be issued at a prorated rate that follows:
      1. Withdrawal two business days prior to start:
        ● 100% of fees of paid 
      2. Withdrawal a In-Class Hours = 30
        ● Cost = $120 Withdrawal by finishing the zoom only (120$ fee)
        Withdrawal zoom + 1 btw session $120+ $130 fee
        Withdrawal zoom + 2 btw session $120+ $260 fee
        Withdrawal after 18 weeks from class start date No Refund
        and student must finish the whole program in 18 months from the first day of zoom or class portion
  • Cancelling appointments ( for behind the wheel sessions) requires a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
  • A late cancellation fee of $60 will be applied if appointments are canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice.
